  6. All of the denizens of the woodlands were invited to Queen Mab's Solstice party. Despite the fact that the faerie queen already owned everything in the forest, she always expected gifts for the holiday season. For the faeries of the woods, it was easy, for they could craft wondrous gifts. But for the tiny forest creatures, it was not so easy.

The squirrels, the birds, and the hedgehogs were all quite poor, but they very much wanted to attend the party and present their queen with a gift (for despite being a bit self-centered and greedy, she was well-loved by her people because she had kept civilization from encroaching on her wooded domain). Pooling their resources together, the tiny creatures found they had enough money to order the queen a new crown from Etsy.

But alas! When the day arrived to go to the party, there was no crown. "Where's the crown?" said the birds to the hedgehogs, who had been guarding the money.

"We thought the squirrels were going to order it," said the hedgehogs. "Their dexterous little paws are the best for using a computer."

"Nay," said the squirrels. "We thought the birds were going to order it, because they kept talking about it on Twitter."

"You know," said the hedgehogs, "we spend so much time on the computer that I'm beginning to think perhaps the queen has not done such a great job of keeping civilization at bay."

"I know!" said the squirrels. "Let us put our technological skills to work! Let's set up a website for the forest!"

And so they did, and the queen was so delighted that she had them all line up for a photograph (although she liked to call them "magical pictures"), to be posted on the website, where they were credited with bringing the faerie kingdom into the 21st century.
