If the sight of the blue skies fills you with joy, if a blade of grass springing up in the fields has power to move you, if the simple things of nature have a message that you understand, rejoice, for your soul is alive. ~Eleonora Duse

Yesterday I spent the morning at the local botanical garden, sketching and taking photos, visiting with other artists. It was a good reminder that not everything in my life has be about business, I can take a break. I didn't realize how burned out I was feeling until I spent an afternoon not worrying about things.
Reminders to myself:
Take care of yourself - spend time in nature - walk - sleep well - eat good - laugh - spend time with loved ones - let go of a few worries - trust in bigger things - breath.

Beautiful photos. I am so glad you did that- I also spent a day two weeks ago and it has refreshed me immensely. I can't imagine how overwhelming being prepared for the bead shows is for you. You chose the best of medicines because nature not only heals it inspires. Spring is my favorite time of year because everything starts over- I can too.
Beautiful photos and words Heather. I think we all need to 'move away' from studios, indoors etc and enjoy our world around us, nature is SO inspirational... and beautiful. Thanks for sharing your day with us.

Can you bottle some of that peace and send it my way? Or maybe just stop the hands of time so that I could take a deep breath and suck it all in? All around me is a blur. Thank you for these gentle reminders.
Enjoy the day!

beautiful and necessary... i am so glad that you got some time 'off' that day... funny, how we fight the down time and yet it can invigorate us tremendously... providing inspiration and energy...
What a beautiful post - nature does restore and center us and bring out our creativity.
